PubU is developed BY the industry, FOR the industry. Industry leaders and experts lead sessions to train up current and next-gen publishing leaders, offered in publishing tracks based on publishing roles in Marketing, Editorial, Production, and more.

Inspiring-U

PubU's signature value is learning from industry colleagues and leaders through panels, Q&A, sessions, and discussions about best practices, case studies, and challenges they've faced and overcome. Plan to leave PubU with a few more friends and mentors, inspired and encouraged in your publishing role.

Connecting-U

PubU is the place to network and meet others in the industry who do what you do—or not. In any case, the connections you make at PubU will enlarge your vision for the mission of Christian publishing while you hone and appreciate your craft as a vital component of that mission.

KEYNOTE

Conveying Truth & Love through your work as a Christian publishing professional

Dr. Christina Barland Edmondson — author, speaker, psychologist, educator, and co-host of the Truth’s Table podcast — will be the plenary speaker during the PubU opening session on November 16 at Lipscomb University in Nashville. Christina will also meet with the PubU Emerging Leader class, leading a session on “Making the Most of Your Mentor Relationship.” Christina is a higher education instructor, organizational consultant, and co-host of the Truth’s Table podcast. She is the coauthor of Faithful Antiracism (IVP) and has served in a variety of roles in higher education including as the Dean for Intercultural Student Development at Calvin University. She is also a certified Cultural Intelligence facilitator, public speaker, mental health therapist, and a consultant in the areas of ethics, equity, and Christian leadership development. Christina holds a PhD in counseling psychology from Tennessee State University, an MS degree in family therapy from the University of Rochester, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Hampton University. Her writing has been seen and referenced in a variety of outlets including Essence.com, YourBlackWorld.com, and Gospel Today magazine.

The Top Shelf Book Cover Awards will celebrate 10 years of recognizing design excellence in Christian publishing, with a look back on the designs, designers, and studios, that have led the way. Then we'll present the 2022 awards in four categories at the PubU opening session.

NPD MARKET DATA REPORTS

PubU attendees will have the unique advantage of receiving the latest market trend reports in two recorded presentations from NPD data experts Brooke Borneman and Brenna Conner. Brenna will report on the Children's Book Market and Brooke will report on overall Christian book market trends and opportunities. The recordings will only be made available to registered attendees.
